Rooted in our communities
The Carpenter Box Charitable Foundation, known as CBCF, supports small charities and community organisations making a positive difference across the areas in which we work.
Through fundraising, donations, volunteering and practical support, we aim to help grassroots organisations continue their valuable work and reach more people within their communities.
Since its inception, CBCF has raised more than £400,000 for local causes, supported by the generosity and commitment of Carpenter Box colleagues, clients and contacts.

Our Charity Partners
As part of our commitment to providing meaningful, long-term support, CBCF works with four primary Charity Partners representing the communities around our main office locations.
Each Charity Partner will receive a donation of £1,000 per year for three years. Our Trustees and colleagues will also work closely with the charities to identify further opportunities for volunteering, fundraising and raising awareness of their work.

Supporting other local charities
While our Charity Partners are the primary beneficiaries of CBCF support, the Foundation also considers requests from other charities and community organisations across the areas in which Carpenter Box operates.
The CBCF Trustees meet quarterly to review applications and decide where our support can make the greatest difference. We prioritise smaller, locally focused charities and grassroots organisations that may not have the profile, fundraising capacity or resources available to larger national charities.
Support may take the form of a grant, donation, fundraising activity, volunteering or practical assistance, depending on the needs of the organisation and the resources available at the time.
More than financial support
Our work is not limited to making donations.
Carpenter Box colleagues can take up to two days of paid volunteering leave each year, giving them the opportunity to contribute their time, skills and experience to local charities and community organisations.
This support may include helping at an event, improving a community space, sharing professional expertise, donating useful equipment or assisting with a specific project.
We also help raise awareness of the organisations we support through Carpenter Box communications, events and local networks.
Powered by our people
CBCF is supported by colleagues from across Carpenter Box, who organise and take part in fundraising activities throughout the year.
From sponsored challenges and social events to team fundraising and personal donations, their enthusiasm and generosity make the Foundation’s work possible.
The Foundation is overseen by a group of volunteer Trustees from Carpenter Box. They are responsible for reviewing requests, selecting causes to support and helping ensure that the funds raised are used where they can make a meaningful local difference.
Meet the Trustees
Could CBCF support your organisation?
Alongside our ongoing commitment to our four Charity Partners, we welcome enquiries from other small charities, voluntary organisations and community groups operating within our geographical reach.
Requests are reviewed by the CBCF Trustees at their quarterly meetings, with priority generally given to smaller local organisations where our support can have a direct and meaningful impact.
We understand that smaller organisations can make an enormous difference within their communities, but may not always have the time, profile or resources needed to access larger sources of funding.
We are therefore keen to hear from organisations that are closely connected to their communities and can clearly explain how CBCF support could help.
Who can apply for support?
We welcome enquiries from small charities, voluntary organisations and community groups operating in the areas surrounding our Carpenter Box locations.
Not every request will be suitable for financial support, but there may be other ways in which we can help.
Your organisation may be suitable for support if it:
- Works primarily within a local community
- Supports people experiencing a particular need or disadvantage
- Has limited access to larger sources of funding
- Is seeking help with a specific project, activity, service or item
- Can clearly explain the difference that CBCF support would make
- Priority is generally given to smaller, grassroots organisations where our contribution can have a direct and meaningful impact.
Request support from CBCF
You do not need to prepare a lengthy application before contacting us.
Please complete the form below to introduce your organisation, explain the support you are looking for and tell us what difference it could make.
Once submitted, your enquiry will be reviewed by the CBCF Trustees at their next quarterly meeting. We may contact you for additional information before making a decision.
Submitting an enquiry does not guarantee that support will be available, as all requests are considered against the funds, time and resources available.
